Is The Horoscope Evil or Satanic?

A lot of Christians wonder if following the Horoscope or Zodiac is wrong,evil,or a sin. Most Christians are not aware that the bible speaks on this issue. In this post I will show that the horoscope and the Zodiac is indeed wrong, evil, Satanic, and a sin.

Horoscope Definition according to The New Lexicon Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language:

1.  The configuration of the planets, especially at the time of a person’s birth, from which astrologers predict his future.

2.  A diagram (zodiac) representing the configuration of the stars and planets at any given time to cast a horoscope to construct such a diagram and use it to make predictions.

Zodiac Definition according to The New Lexicon Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language:

1.    An imaginary band on the celestial sphere of width 16 degrees, bounded by two circles equidistant from the ecliptic, within which are  contained the path of the sun, principal planets and the moon, and which is divided into 12 equal parts, each named after a constellation.

2.    A figure showing the parts with their symbols and emblems.

God does not want us to look to any other source other than Him.

1.    Proverbs 16: 9 A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

2.     Proverbs 20:24 A man’s steps are of the LORD, how then can a man

                    understand his own way?

3.    Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

Man can’t direct his steps or understand his way. Only the LORD can direct and know a man’s way. Not the Horoscope or the Zodiac.

God forbad his people from seeking other sources to learn their way or future.

Deut 4:15-19 ¹⁵Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: ¹⁶Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, ¹⁷The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, ¹⁸The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: ¹⁹And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

 Examples in Duet 4:15-19 Likeness of any male or female: Virgo the virgin ;Beast  on the earth: Leo the Lion ,Taurus the bull, Aries the Ram ; Fish: Pisces   Creepth Thing: Scorpio the scorpion Cancer crab etc.  

Deut 18: 9-14 ⁹When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. ¹⁰There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, ¹¹Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. ¹²For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. ¹³Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. ¹⁴For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

An Observer of times is Hebrew 6049 word  anan which means to practice soothsaying, observe times, fortune telling.

2 Kings 21:6 And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

2 Kings 23:1-5 ⁴And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel. ⁵And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven.

The word Planet is the Hebrew 4208 word mazzalah which means constellations and the signs of the ZODIAC. The Host of heaven are angelic beings in this verse because the sun moon and planets are already mentioned. The ancient Hebrew people got in trouble numerous times with the LORD for worshiping the sun, moon, stars, planets, and angelic beings/foreign gods.

Isaiah 47:12-13 ¹²Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. ¹³Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

The word Astrologer  is the Hebrew 1895 word habar which means to be an astrologer with objects and heavens. To be a HOROSCOPIST

God tells us in Jeremiah 10: 1-2 not to be concerned with the signs of heaven. Rather he tells us to seek Him who made the heavens and every thing in them.

Amos 5:8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name

 These scriptures mention planets and constellations by names: Job 38:31-32,  Job 9:9

Job 9:9 Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

Job 38:31-32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

The penalty for participating in Occultism which included: Witchcraft, Astrology, Fortune telling, Necromancy, Charmers, Sorcery, Idolatry, Observer of times, the worship of the sun,moon,stars, planets,animals, people, constellations was DEATH !!!

Exodus 22:18 ¹⁸Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Leviticus 20:6,27

⁶And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

²⁷A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

The conclusion is God wants us to call upon Him when we need to know the future or what we should do in different situations. God spoke to His people in the Old Testament by angels, prophets, or via the Urim and Thummim by the High Priest (Exodus 28:30). In the New Testsment He speaks to us by the Holy Spirit and the five fold ministry gifts which are apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11). God did not want His people to seek anyone but Him. He says in Jeremiah 33:2-3 ²Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; ³Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

WE SHOULD CALL ON THE LORD NOT THE HOROSCOPE OR THE ZODIAC!!!!
